After leaving Nelson and travelling through Kaikora and a stop over at Christchurch we finally arrived at Fox Glacier. It is super cold here and the scenery has changed dramatically. Our accomodation is pretty basic but I quite like it - I feel like I am at a ski resort. In the evening after dinner and watching everyone ski dive videos, we went on a super scary walk through a forest on a glow worm hunt! I still had my cold and was ready for bed but Emma dragged me along! I am glad I went as it was pretty cool - there were Glow Worms literally everywhere - unfortunatley I could not get a picture.... but tried my best and got told off as my flash kept going off by accident. Eventually what was supposed to be a early night turned into going to sleep at gone midnight ready for yet again another early start!
The next day I was doing a Heli-Hike up Fox Glacier. This was amazing it was my first time in a chooper which was fun and the views of the Glacier where just superb. We landed on the Glacier and split into groups to have a guided tour of it! As you can see from the pics it was pretty cold. It was a surreal experience and I recommend anyone travelling to New Zealand to fork out on it!
After this it was pretty much straight on the bus straight to the Adrenaline Capital of the world - Queenstown! I am so excited!
