At last, I have made it to the UK and it is just how I had imagined it....
Beautiful.
I am in love with London already. I love the old buildings and that there is so much history here.
After nearly 48 hours of traveling, I was in desperate need of a shower. I was so happy to finally change my clothes at my hotel.
I rode the Gatwick Express to London Victoria where I switched to the underground.. No one warned me about all of the stairs- (thank god I do weights at the gym). I lined up for my Oyster card and loaded it up with some money to get around for he next couple of days. I stopped at Temple and walked to my hotel using google maps. On my walk, I had my first glimpse of the London Eye which made me very excited.
Not long after settling in at my hotel, I was out hitting the streets of London with an old friend of mine. We went to Borough Markets and had drinks at the Shard. After that, we went out in Soho for dinner. We ate at Jamie's diner and walked up to Piccadilly Square. I couldn't believe how many people were out and about on a Sunday night.
Today I am off to do some solo exploring.

Marg You are really getting around and seem to love it there. Continue to have a wonderful time! Love you xxx
Bernie Glad to hear you've finally arrived in London. I know what you mean about the history...it's something we don't quite experience here in Australia. I'm enjoying reading your posts...it helps a 'non-facebook' person to keep in touch with what you're doing (however there is a facebook addict here at work that will fill me in on your every move.) :-) Take care and enjoy. x
Irene Go Megan, loved reading your adventures you have certainly done a lot in just a couple of days. Stay safe and don't fall too much in love with London we want you back home. Take care xx
