Today was a travel day. We left Florence at 8 am and traveled to Pisa. We saw the Leaning Tower, which is literally all there is in Pisa, but it was really cool. We then traveled to Rome and got here around 5. The bus ride wasn't bad, I slept a lot and we watched some of Gladiatior to get ready for Rome. The area we're in isn't the best, but our hotel is very nice. We get to go to the Vatacian tomorrow, which should be great. I'm glad I watched Angels and Demons before I got here, now I have a little bit of an idea of what to expect. Although our area isn't the best, it does have its benefits. There is a large university next door, and we FINALLY have some cheap food options. For dinner, I had a big pizza and coke for 3.50 euros. I also had some awesome gellato later, a huge double scoop cone for just 1.8 euros. Anywhere else it all would have cost over 10. Anyway, I realized today how easy the language barrier is to cross, all you have to do is be patient, use body language, and say thank you. I can't wait to see Rome tomorrow, the Vatican will be amazing, along with the Pantheon, Collesium, and countless other things. I really am incredible lucky, blessed, thankful,.....the list goes on and on to be on this trip. It's unreal how much we've seen in under two weeks. Also, yesterday we got to climb a hill overlooking Florence which was incredible (see pics). I put some up of Pisa also, enjoy. I miss you all, have a great day!
