Interlaken was absolutely amazing. We flew in late, we were supposed to get to the airport at 10:30 and the last train to Interlaken left at like 11:15. Our flight ended up being late, so we missed the last train and completely lucked out when the airport people helped us find a bus. We had 16 people, the bus held 13, so it was an interesting 2.5 hour drive to say the least. Our hostel was really nice and cool, we had a private room for 10 of us, and everybody enjoyed the place. Friday we did rafting, which was great. The water was 40 degrees because less than an hour ago it was in a glacier, our guides told us. Needless to say, we all had wetsuits on but it was still freezing to get splashed. The river was pretty continuous class 3 and 4 rapids, so it was really exciting and we had a ton of fun. At the end, you come out onto this huge blue lake with the mountains surrounding it, so that was really cool to see. We actually got out and swam a little in the river, which was mind numbingly cold, but cool to say you swam in glacier water. After rafting, a group of us went and rented ATV's and rode those around for an hour and a half until it started pouring on us. The country is so beautiful there, there are mountains, lakes, waterfalls, and lots of neat villages along the way. The next day, we went canyoning. I wasn't sure quite what to expect, but I knew it would be fun. We got all our wetsuits and gear on, hopped in a van and drove about an hour to the canyon. We got out and saw a 400 foot drop off that we had to rapel down to get into the canyon. The rapel was fun, but pretty scary also. Once we were in the canyon, we did all kinds of jumps down waterfalls, natural rock slides, climbing, and zip lines. It was a blast, there were so many scary moments that were also exhilirating. Towards the end, they looped a rope around the zip line and you had to told it to stay on the zip line. When you slid down the waterfall, they just yelled out "NOW" when you were over the deeper water and then you let go and fell. I tried to flip, but ended up landing straight on the back of my head, which sucked but was also fun. There are a few good pictures of it. Our last day, our flight left later and we decided to hike up one of the mountains. The hike was extremely tough, but we got some great views and it was really fun. Overall, it was the best weekend so far, I got to do and see things that are truly once in a lifetime. Switzerland is extremely expensive! ($12 for a Big Mac), but it was all worth it and I'd recommend it to anyone. Tomorrow we go to Dublin for our last weekend trip! Hope everyone is doing well and make sure to look at the pictures from everything, especially canyoning (they cost $35!).
