Today we walked the Mimi Palms walk (about 4.4km). We climbed over huge rocks and walked up the rocky creek bed. The walk was hot until we got into the gorge. We had to climb over rocks that were as big as the car. There were a lot of smaller rocks stuck in the cliffs and the larger fallen rocks. There were a lot of palm trees, some big and some small. At the end of the walk there was a platform that looked deep into the gorge - we couldn't even see all the way in because it was pitch black.
Mum and Isla walked to the next car park but us boys took the car. Then we walked into Echidna Chasm. When we first went into the Chasm it was about 5m wide but as we kept walking further in it got narrower. You wouldn't want to be claustrophobic if you were going into the Chasm! We had to climb over large boulders to get the the end of the Chasm. Here we could see where the water flows in. It was really cool because when we first got there is was dark but when we were leaving it was really bright because the sun was shining through the top of the chasm. This was an awesome place!
