Time is going so quickly, i cant believe i've been here a week already! Still staying at the Underground Backpackers Hostel, its really central and got good atmosphere as well as being value for money (breakfast and lunch are included!!!). The girls in my dorm are long termers so they all work and go to be early. Dont really like it, and i've got a top bunk which is a nightmare because there is no ladder so i've got to climb up the side of the bed whilst trying not to make too much noise/movement and disturbing the girl below.
Have been to the coast twice now, we got the train there one day just to see how far away it was etc but we went in the wrong direction and ended up doing an unnessesary 4km walk!! Ive walked loads since i've been here cause im not sure about the busses. My feet really hurt and got a few blisters. The beach at Cottesloe is really nice but there isnt much else to do there. Where we are staying in Northbridge, there are loads of pubs/bars/clubs/shops etc it's really lively. Bue drinks are just too expensive, $9/10 for a pint!!! After 2 pints i was ready to leave, not worth it! We found the local version of Bargain Booze called Dan Murphy's. Its a massive alcohol superstore but they sell really chap stuff too, $3.99 passion pop (a bit like lambrini) and $3.90 bottles of wine (a bit like piss). Boxes of goon are about $15 ish and you get about 4 litres, dont think it tastes great but does the job!
Hayley has arrived now which is great cause we've got similar plans of what we want to do while we are here. Also met up with a girl from school. Not seen her since i left school but she hasnt changed a bit! Been great spending time with her as she's been all over Oz and has given us some great advice. Spent the morning in Kings Park which had amazing views of the city, i imagine it would be even better at night. Went to my first house party which was great! It was a mission to get there (train and bus) but was really good to be around aussies and kiwi's. Got deunk and fell asleep in the garden...standard!
Trying to be better with my money now so bought some noodles for 60cents per pack, not bad really. Trying not to eat out as much but there are so many places with cheap deals for backpackers its hard to resist.
There are massive blackbirds/ravens here and they make a really strange noise. It sounds like howling cats that are in pain and abuot to throw up.
Have been down to Freemantle which is really nice. There is loads going on. We had some seafood down at the marina where there was a live band playing. Visited the Freemantle Prison but didnt take the tour, it seemed expensive and none of us were enthusiactic about it so we gave it a miss. We also say the Round House which is the oldest public biulding in Australia (or something like that). There were some realyl good markets at Freo, mostly selling oriental stuff.
The weather is a mix at the moment, its hot but not scortching and there is always a nice breeze that keeps it slightly cool. Im guessing this will change soon. Need to make plans soon because im starting to feel restless. Hopefully Hayley and i will sort something out today. Started looking at cars now and hoping to get that sorted this week and then the roadtrip starts!!
Not really taken any photos yet because i havn't really been anywhere. Hopefully soon i will have some that are worth uploading.

pgmonkey Have you seen any kangaroos yet?
Megan McCready Well we saw quite a few dead ones on the roads up North. An then on the way back, we saw a live on jumping across the road in front of our van!
