hola amigos!
you may be abit alarmed by the speed that this blog has been posted! but its ok, take a deep breath and calm down! max and i have decided to now do blogs covering just one place so this way we are not typing until our hands nearly drop off or forgetting any key happenings of our trip!
after a 20 hour bus journey we arrived in bariloche!( the biggest city in the lake distrct of argentina). when we arrived we didnt have anywhere to stay so we wonderd about abit without a clue looking for a tent hire place. this was unsuccessfull, so we decided to fork out abit more money for a few nights in a hostel called hostel inn with a good view of lake tahpi! when we got there we where exuasted so we decided to have a short nap which ended up being a very long nap and when we woke up it was nearly dark! at hostel inn we get free dinners so after our power nap we cashed in on our free meal! after that we went down to the town to check out our home town for the next few days!
on the second day we woke up around mid day and decided to go for a swim in the lake! it was veryyy hard to get in the lake without breaking your ankle or worse on the many rocks! but heroicaly i managed to get waist deep whereas max on the other hand managed to get to his ankles then decided it was too cold and back out of the water he went!
on the third day we decided to rent some bikes so we went(in a very very very expensive taxi) to a circuit called circuito chico. riding a bike was proberly the first form of exercise we had got in 5 weeks (except from being mauled by the sea!) on the ride we got to a bridge with a river running underneath! it was a freezing cold windy day but i wanted to swim and no weather was going to stop me! so i got in leaving max sat behind a bush shivvering! when i was in the water people thought i was crazy and were taking pictures of me and watching me like i was some caged animal in a zoo! later that evenening when we got back from the bike ride we went on a snack hunt in town before tea but ended up running into a "gang" of dogs which chased me and max down the street through crowds of people! at one point max even sent me off in anouther direction down a side street using me as bait! but the gang carried on chasing him! lucily we lost the gang of dogs as we went into a big crowd of people and hid!
on the 3rd day we went on a hike with a hike mad guy from holland! here we where followed by anouther dog! this dog however seemed to be friendly and ended up leading us up a mountain and acting as our guide for the day! it was actually an emotional goodbye after the 16k walk we had 2 go our seperate ways and leave our guide at his owners house!this was afters its moment of maddness trying to bite moving cars on our way back down the mountain!
we are currently waiting for our coach to mendoza (again booked a few hours before we leave!). which is a 19 hour coach and i dont have a book to read as it got stolen by an american!
hope all is ok with everyone at home! will put new pictures up soon!
love
charles and max(although charles wrote it)
