I got into Sydney and was met by Olly, as i was now going to stay with his family during my stay in Sydney. My first day i tried to relax, but unfortunatly there is no rest for the wicked as Oli and his sister Nicki insisted that we went to the beach. The beach we chose happened to be filming some famous Australian tv-show so it was then that i made my official debut on Australian television as an extra on "Blue Water High"! I relaxed the rest of the day.
The next day i was woken by bloody chickens at 6am (this turned into a daily occurence!). After a chilled day we went out clubbing at Cabana where some famous band called the Potbellies were playing, but they were s***! It was a very good night in general, with Olli getting very drunk, so much so that he threw up about 7 or 8 times the following morning on the way to his doctors appointment! The next few days we went out a few times and chilled as well. I went into Sydney to make some travel alterations at STA travel, but i just ended up getting lost and walking up and down Kent street a few times, problem is its 2 miles long! Eventually i gave up and just went to check out the aquarium which was very cool!
I was having such a good time that i decided to extend my stay there by another week, which was a good idea. We went to the beach a few more times, and i even went to explore more of Sydney again, with the help of Olli this time though! I went up the Sky Tower, and it was from here that you can really appreciate the beauty of Sydney. Its architecture is fantastic and it is so clean in comparison to London(+there are loads of fit women!)
Another day Olli, Richard and I went to the super 14 match between the Brumbies and the Waratahs. This was awesome because at the time there was terrential rain and lightning cracking down everywhere, not only was this an awesome sight, it was a combination of my two favourite things: rugby and geography! It so happened that Ollies friends were there too, so when the match finished we headed out into town, despite the crap weather! This was a good night as Ollies mates are a good bunch of lads, and also very very funny!
A few days later Olli and I went to Richards golf club to play a round. It really enjoyed the four few holes as i was winning and i was only two over par without a handicap. However, from then on i remembered why I hate golf as i continued to get worse and worse untill i threw the club at a tree, Richard was not impressed! It was that night that me Olli Nicki and I went to Sydney Universities freshers ball! This was absoloutely awesome, the entire building was dedicated to one big party. There were three levels, each varying in type of music, the bottom level was dance, the second house and the top was rock. All three was awesome and they even had a redbull tent outside, my heaven! After many redbulls we made our way home, where as i predicted i didnt get to sleep due to an abundance of caffeine in my system!
Eventually my two and half weeks with the Lord family was up, and they had been very generous to me! I took the greyhound bus out of Sydney. My opinion of Sydney is that it is a beautiful city, very clean and full of very friendly people. There is a very large asian population, which is mostly due to the large amount of international migration out of Hong Kong. However, this did not affect my overall love of Sydney. Next stop Byron Bay.
