I set off from Sydney on saturday morning at 7am, nice and ealry and spent the next 10 hours in a minibus with the Oz Experience crew making lewd comments and trying to liven up a bunch of tired backpackers, wasn't going to happen! Once the chesy music had finished and we arrived at a place called Surf Camp, things were on the up!! With a free surf lesson the next morning, the night was quite relaxed, beers ofcourse and a free bbq, then an early night to make sure I got up to watch the rugby cup final at 5am kick off! what a waste of time!!

Then there was a free fry up, we picked up our surf boards and wet suits began our lesson at 8am! Surprisingly it wasn't cold at all, in fact it was pretty hot!! The surfing instructors were so annoying, all they wanted to do was impress the women, but all of them looked like scrawny homeless people, annoying accent, rubbish jokes etc, i put one in his place infront of everyone, ha ha, ladies first in the brekky queue, then me and a lad from kent joined the queue and he said, ladies followed by gays, trying to be funny, so i said, nah mate, ginger gays first, as he was a ginger! ha ha shut him right up!

So, the surfing..... really easy to pick up, i hit my first wave on the second attempt, my first attempt ended in a nose dive and painful face plant, but I picked myself up and carried on and got the hang of it in no time, once you get use to paddling, then standing in one movement, it's easy. So i am going to make the most of our hostels facilities (they offer free rental of surfboards) and try to perfect it myself for a week and then have a refresher lesson to get my technique and stance right. I just can't stand the ozzie blokes, they are so arrogant and for no reason at all! We invented their country, not them!! And if I get called Pom once more!! Aaaaaggghhh!!!

We then travelled to Byron Bay which is where I am writing this. Three people have been attacked by sharks in Byron Bay in the last week so it is quite scary and it's definitely in the back of my mind, want to have all my limbs intact thanks!! So we'll see how it goes! I am currently travelling with my ne girlfriend, Carly, who is a very good lookilike of Cameron Diaz, so everything's good!! The hostel haas it's own swimming pool and it situated 5mins from beach! Can't complain!!

Anyways, not sure how long i'll be in Byron for, still haven't sussed it out yet, first day at beach today, it's very warm!! 40 i think! So, i will update you all soon and put up a new photo album as soon as i can!! Hope all is well, miss you all!!

Well it's my last day in Byron Bay, hasn't been that fantastic compared to other places I have been, it's comparable to a very hot and sunny bournemouth, been for some long walks, played footy on the beach, surfed a bit, played a few too many drinking games, been running along the beach and to a free gym in the evenings...

Tomorrow I head for Surfers Paradise, which is supposed to be a bit like vegas on a smaller scale, so I have been told... I'm toying with the idea to rent a campervan to travel to some more of Australia and end up in Melbourne, all ideas at teh moment though...

I will put some pictures up this evening for you to see how good I look on a surfboard ha ha!!
