Our last week in Tweed was spent going out drinking and eating...much like the other 4 weeks. We started the week off by going out with Lea in Surfers which was really fun as she knew the places to go. We met up with her boyfriend Erik who dj's in Shooters nightclub (that is Shooters not Hooters!). The following day we chilled at her place before driving up to Brisbane in the evening to stay with Matt and Tess who we met in Thailand. We caught up over pizza and cocktails then headed out to the valley for a few more. The next day we felt surprisingly awake so after a big brekkie we had a walk around the city then went back to theirs for a spa before going out later for a Mexican. We had a really wicked time catching up and hope to meet up again before we leave Oz.
After this heavy weekend we thought we'd get some much needed exercise and what better than to climb a mountain. So we drove to Murwillumbah heading for Mount Warning. It was 8.8km return which after a half hour break at the top took us about 4 hours. It was quite tough but was good fun and enjoyed the challenge. The pictures do not do the rock scramble at the end justice, it was nearly vertical!
The 26th January is Oz day which is a public holiday and spent like many other public holidays, having a bbq and drinking beer. Lea invited us round for a bbq to celebrate with her and her friends by the pool. It was a good night but finished early as it usually does after an all day session. This suited us as as we were invited to spend the next day on board one of Bill and Laura's friends boat. We had a good day cruising and swimming in Tweed river.
Our last day was mostly spent packing and doing laundry etc. At night we took the family out for dinner to a nice seafood restaurant to say thank you for everything over the past few weeks. Will miss you guys and thanks again!
