We decided to go to Wet n Wild as my Auntie managed to get us both a free pass. It was good fun but really busy as the schools still hadn't gone back, so ended up waiting a while for the main rides. The next day Bill & Laura took us to Marina Mirage just outside Surfers. We went to the Versace hotel and checked out all the cool boats in the marina before heading back home to a local mexican for dinner.
Later that week we went to Springbrook National Park to see Purlingbrook Falls. We did a long walk around the base of it, standing underneath which was cool. We saw quite a bit of wildlife on the walk, a few big lizard type things and a snake. We were busy looking upwards for spiders and not looking at the path, I felt something hit my leg and looked down to see a snake behind me. I was proud of Jo though as she screamed but at the same time was getting the camera ready to take a picture! Unfortunatly the snake was too camera shy and wriggled off into the bush. For lunch we went to a cafe at the top of the waterfall where there were loads lorakeets flying around trying to get a munch on my jumbo sausage! We then took a drive to the Natural Bridge (arch) and walked right into the cave where at night you can see loads of tiny gloworms on the roof of the bridge.
We met Jo's friend and her boyfriend in Surfers the next day. It was nice seeing a familiar face and sharing our travelling stories over dinner. Jenny and Alex had to catch the bus the next day as they were on a tighter schedule so we said our good byes....we next plan to meet up in Auckland. We spent the day at Jo's cousins place in Southport with the pool to ourselves as unlike us, some people have to go to work!
