Hello from NZ folks,,,
Sorry we have been so long in doing another blog but we have just been non stop since we got here, im just going to give a quick report on our travels this time cos we have done so much already and i cant be asked to go into details because it will take ages and bore the living s*** out of you!! So we landed fine in Christchurch from OZ and got to our cool little hotel and set about finding our campervan for the next 4 weeks, we picked up a really good deal and the camper was really nice, it looks like the A Team van and its could Dougie!!, its quite nippy tho not like its namesake doug the slug!!!! Our fist stop was a little place called Akaroa on the banks penninsula, it was suggested by my old work mate Gus and he came up trumps, it was beautiful, we parked next to a massive bay and just chilled out with a local fisherman all day next to the water with a few glasses of choice red wine thrown back aswell, the bloke told us not to go diving in as he had seen a massive black shadow pass underneath him earlier, i thought he was just taking the michael and trying to scare us but just as i was about to jump in a huge black stingray swam past and it was huge so that was the end of my swim!!! Next was lake Tekapo again it was just beautful here and the lake was a bright blue as its was filled from the snowy mountains behind it, we went off the tourist trail again and down a few dirt tracks to find ourselves a nice little spot right next to the lake all to ourselves for a bit of sunbathing and swimming as we were staying here the night too now, well the swimming wasnt exactly refreshing but more life threatening its was so cold u could only get in for up to a minute as soon as my foot touch the water the first time my genitals literally became inverted!!!! we braved the cold tho and had a quick dip and a wash and shave in it because we are filthy travellers now!!! The next day we went to mount cook, New Zealands biggest mountain it was huge but u can only look at a mountain for so long and after a while the novelty wore off and we pressed on to dunedin, this was a Scottish town and all the buildings reflected it and the weather did too it was a bit gloomy!!! we did find a beach tho which had sealions sleeping on it so we drove down another gravel track to find them and wake then up, these things are massive they are the shape of a giant turd but with a massive set of teeth to get u with if you get too close!!! Next day we drove the scenic route around the catlins all the way round the bottom of the country till we hit lake Te Anau this was again a beautiful little town built around the lake, a lot of Lord of the Rings film was apparently filmed around this area, that night we decided to treat ourselves to a restaurant meal and a few beers the pub calle MOOSE has the premier league on and the beers slipped down a little easier when villa beat arsenal 2-0 ha ha!! Next we went to milford sound, this is just the most amazing scenery i think we both had ever seen im not even going to try and explain it you have to go there at some point to see what im talking about on our cruise around the sound the next day we seen penguins, seals and dolphins it was awesome and we also got driven under a massive waterfall and got completely soaked all adding to the hyperthermia we had already contracted due to the wind and rain!! Back at our camp site that night we made a few more friends over again more wine and planned to meet up in queenstown! Well Queenstown did not dissapoint its a wicked little town all based around the adrenaline sports they do there and a banging nightlife, we met up with a few of the people from milford and i did my first bungy jump off a place called the ledge which is up on a mountain overlooking queenstown, it was qualuity is was buzzing all day leading up to it and me and erin also did some luging before which got me even more pumped up by the time of my bungy i was a ticking bomb as soon as they had secured me i literally just ran for the edge and dived off it was amazing, erin decided against a bungy but did a canyon swing which looked quality aswell, when she was hanging there ready to be released im sure i saw a little brown nugget fall out the bottom of her trouser leg!! She really enjoyed it tho and i was very proud of her!! To celebrate that night we went out and had a massive night with all our new mates especially Earl a complete legend and nutter from the US who we are good mates with and will meet up with again soon im sure! Next day we headed for the fox and franz josef glaciers they were pretty impressive defo worth a visit, then after we powered on thro to hamner springs which are thermal pools and hot srings and had a good relax, and that brings us up to date and to here in kaikoura today we did a bid walk to see the resident seal colony and tommorrow we are going out on a boat to swim with then in the ocean so far this place is really good loads of whales and dolphins around too, anyway thats all for now!!!
