Ki Ora from New Zealand, i know ur thinking ki ora is a fruit juice but in NZ its hello in Maori!!! So we has a wicked few days in welington with Ho Bag's mum and dad ken and lynette they showed us the sights and put us up in there lovely house looking over wellington harbour we really enjoyed it, and as welly has more bars down the main st than ive seen anywhere we went out one night with Ho bag's bro Andy and ripped it up a bit, really loved wellington!!!! We headed north from welly towards Lake Taupo driving through the Taronagriro natinal park which is just full of massive active volcanoes one of which Mt Ruapheau was Mt Doom in Lord of the rings!! Talking of rings erin,s was going a bit as we had planned to do a skydive in Taupo, so the next morning we were up early and i thought it would be a good idea to start breakfast with a bungy jump so we both stepped up to the bungy site early doors, we were all fired up it was a really nice bungy site over a big river, i went first to show the way and erin followed shortly after for her first ever bungy jump, she was pumped up and probably not too scared considering we has our skydive coming up in under an hour, she threw herself off no problems a good start to the day. After our early morning bungy we were fired up for our skydive so atthe airfield w gotinto our gear ready to go, leather cap and goggles all i had in my head was the music from damn busters i looked round to see erin not so at ease with the situation, just as we were about to go the clouds came over and the jump was called off we were gutted and had to get unchanged wetook off our jump suits and in erins case a nappy aswell and headed back into town a bit down and decided to leave taupo and head for the thermal wonderland of rotorua! Rotorua is awesome and it became evident early on that we were now in prime maori country, this is one of the biggest maori populations in NZ andwhen i saw somw of these blokes were big u better beleive they has an even bigger maori wife behind them, what do they feed these people? the way they looked at you we presumed tourist may be one of their regular meals!!! As big and scary as they looked they were actually wicked people they were so friendly and a really good laugh as long as u dont cross the line ur limbs and internal organs are pretty safe from being eaten!! We came here for two reasons firstly the white water rafting and secondly we awanted to go to a maori night, the white water rafting was so good its was so much fun and the rapids and waterfalls were huge our rafting guide was called chonk as as u can tell by his name he had a few screws loose, he was a legend we got completey drenched and thought we were going to die a few times we also went down the highest raftable waterfall in the world at 7m this thing was massive and raging with water, as we came up to the egde of it u could lok down and just see mist from the power we went down at pace and completely submerged under the falls and popped back up to the top a little bit later, it was class!! The maori night was very good the did the haka and cooked us a hangi meal which is meat and vegetables cooked in the earth with hot rocks it was quality, we also visited hells gate which is thermal hot pools and mub pools it just seemed like the whole of rotorua was ready to blow at any time!!! Next we headed for the waitomo caves these are a series of caves and rivers underground which are home to the famous glowworms!, we has to abseil down into the cave and go through the eel infested river and rock climb all the way to the glowwormswhich when all the lights were switched off looked like a whole solar system right abouve ur head it was crazy but a really good day! Bay of islands next this place is beautiful just hundreds of tropical islands with clear blue waters and dolphns and whales it was crazy we based ourselves in pahia and one day did a boat cruise around the islands out to the famous hole in the rock o our way we came across a massive pod of bottle nose dolphins it was so amazing to see them so close in the wild theyswam straight up to us and were jumping out the water and playing around apparently dolphins mate 13 times a day so no wonder they are always so pumped up the experience was great. Next day after the dissappointment of taupo we went to do a skydive over the bay of islands, nochance of a call off today as the sun was out and it was a beautiful day this without a doubt was the best thing ive ever done and im sure erin will say the same but on the day she was pale with fear and shaking like a s***ting dog!!!! We jumped out at 12000 ft and the view over the islands was completely awesome, theres a couple of seconds up there during the freefall when u think shouldnt of he pulled the parachute out by now which gets u going even more then al of a sudden its out and ur floating slowly back down to the landing site, once in a lfetime stuff so good, wait to u all see the dvd's erind face is an absolute ripper ha ha!! Before heading back to auckland we went to the coromandel for a few days just chilling on the beach soaking up rays and relaxing after a pretty crazy couple of weeks, arrived in Auckland a couple of days ago we are staying with our drinking buddys from thailand Di and Nick until our flight out, well needlessto say we picked up where we left off with them, laughing and drinking and just enjoying the luxury of having a shower at hand after giving dougie our trusty campervan back!!! Anyway folks until the next time have a wicked christmas fiji and the beach awaits for us!!!!!
