We decided to leave bali behind for a few days and head out to and island off the coast for some scuba diving where aparently there was some of the best dive sites in the world to dive? this island isnt really well known by tourists, its mainly for divers and a few hardend surfers who go there for the huge waves which crash on the reefs around 500m off the island. we got a nice roon for a couple of nights for around 5 pound a night? It was right on the beach a rite bargain. There is nothing to do on this island at all its basically been the same for hundreds of years the locals still hand make there boats and there income comes from the few dive companys on the island and seaweed farming which they send to japan for cosmetics! we chilled out the first day and night then it was an early start the next day for our diving. We went out with a company called bali dive academy who were really good, and the 2 dive sites we were diving were called pura ped and sd point. Our 2 dives were drfit dives which we hadnt done before, u just lets the currents which are strong here take u from one point across the reefs to another point where ur boat picks u up. This was probably the highlight of anything we had done so far for me it was an amazing experience, the reef was immaculate and so many different varietys of coral and sponges and the amount of fish there was just unbeleivable, we saw turtles, moray eels, trigger fish, clown fish, trumpet fish, schools of rabbit fish, giant puffer fish and loads loads more it was amazing, we are definately going back, an ozzie fella who dived with us said it was loads better than the great barrier reef, which just shows how good this place was! after our diving next morning we returned to bali. for really just more sunbathing and chilling out before we had to get on our flight to australia and cairns, its crazy we will be in oz in a few days we cant wait, life dont get much better than this readers we are having a ball, but oz here we come!
