we got to singapore late wednesday night and had a few places jotted down on where to stay, needless to say they were all booked finding somewhere to stay in singapore is a nightmare its such a big place and so busy but we finally found somewhere in little india a 6 bed dorm room for the night it was clean a cheap and we were shattered so we settled for that. we had a bit of food and a little wonder round then hit the sack, dorm rooms are good when ur with a group but when ur with 4 other random people it aint great and we had four annoying indians in ours who get up around four in the morning switching the lights on and off slamming doors these we edgey times but we got through it without any serious injury and found somwhere for the next three nights which was a lot better and not very pricey even if it was in the red light district! again the best way to get around was the smrt railsystem its really good and u need it in such a big city! again our first day was basically spent walking around the city so erin could eye up all the hundreds of shopping centres they have here and i was eyeing up all the boozers for later on that evening, in singapore u literally can shop till u drop but u need loads of cash its expensive and i only gave erin a shopping budget of $2.25 a day so she really could only afford half an ice cream! later that evening we headed out and went to raffels this place is famous for its singapore slings and apparently to go to raffels for a singapore sling is a must for any traveller, so we set to it. raffels is top notch really posh and really expensive, we ordered our slings at the famous long bar and the bill followed shortly after which made me feel physically sick, erin was slurping up her drink though i didnt like them too much they are so sweet so erin had mine too and we got out of there while we still had money in our wallet! we went to an area called chimes after just over the road from raffels its an area full of top bars and restaurants, but after our bill for the slings in raffels we couldnt afford to eat there that night so headed to chinatown for some good feed! next day we went to singapore zoo this is supposed to be one of the best zoo,s in the world and it didnt dissapoint it was amazing, no cages or anything all the animals have big natural enclosures as it is all built into the rainforest still left aroud sinapore, u need a whole day really to get round it to see everything but its worth it, there is also the worlds only night safari there this was the highlight of the trip as most animals are noctrernal they were all up and about at night, its a seperate part of the zoo u have to go round on a tram because not all the animals are in a big enclosure they are left to walf around freely its amazing and a definate must if u come to singapore, the zoo also has some great restaurants and bars so u dont have to go all the way back into the city for ur dinner it really is a great place and some of the endangered animals they have walking around are so good to see up close. so today is our last day in singapore before we catch our flight to bali later this evening, singapore is an amazing city so much to see but if ur coming this way just make sure u get some cash together because it aint cheap, great place back to the beach now though
