The South East Asia experience has come to an end and it was with tearful eyes that we had to say goodbye to Cambodia and the kids of the Cambodia Orphanage Save Organisation (C.O.S.O). Cambodia was possibly the most beautiful place in the world. Friendly people, community spirit, good food, hot sun, clay roads, palm sugar trees...a real treat for the eyes wherever you turned.
After spending a few days in Phnom Penh visting the infamous killing fields we returned to Siem Reap to spend one week teaching English at a newly opened orphanage with kids between the age of 6 and 15. We had the most amazing week with the kids but one week just wasn't enough however the flight to India had been pre-booked so we had to leave and here we are now.
First impressions of Kolkata...not so good. Manic, dirty and noisy, a real assault on the senses. We had wanted to stay here and work but its just not very nice so this evening we leave for Darjeeling, the home of a good brew and hopefully a respite from the car horns of the city.
If anyone is thinking about a holiday we fully recommend Cambodia. It was perfect!
Take care all, thanks once again for the messages and see you soon!!
