This tour doesn't start it's mornings until 10am. Whoop whoop!! It's great today because we slept for thirteen hours.
We went to Catherine's Palace/Tsars Village/Pushkin whatever you want to call it. It was incredible. The details in every room is covered in gold leaf. Russians are spending crazy amounts of money to restore all these palaces, churches and monuments. I am surprised that they have the money to do it. After lunch of borsch (yum) and beef stroganoff with mashed potatoes (yum) we went to the church on spilled blood which was by far the most impressive church I have ever been into. Every wall and the ceiling was covered, and I mean covered, with intricate mosaics. Mind blowing!!
Time for dinner in the lounge of the hotel and off to bed.

It was sunny outside this morning, which made me think ' Oh, maybe it's warmer outside today... ' nope, it wasn't!
Luckily, I did wear my thermals.
Catherine's palace was built to impress and it did. Lots and lots of gold leaf will do that!
The church on spilled blood was also very impressive, not just outside, but inside had mosaics on a scale I've never seen before.
We went for a little wander around one of the main streets and did some shopping before coming back to the hotel for 'debriefing and cocktails'.
