We are sitting on the train going from
St Petersburg to Novgorod which is apparently one of the oldest towns in Russia. It should be nice.
I picked up a cold in Egypt and haven't been able to shake it and now I have a stomach bug as well. All I am doing at the moment is sleeping and doing the bare minimum walking around. I hope that it gets better and I can find some energy to tackle Moscow head on.

Our hotel in Novgorod is in the middle of nowhere but surprisingly pleasant! There is an optional banya 'Russian sauna' but I hate having a hot bath and sauna's make me feel sick so I am going to sit this one out. Oh, and dinner is at 10.45pm WTF!!!

It looks like we're staying in a ski lodge, completely made of timber, it is after all called 'Yuri's Wooden Palace'.
We decided we'd seen enough of St. Petersburg, so we treated ourself to some relaxation time in the comfort of the hotel. Caught a train to Novgorod, which was a pretty good train ride in the Russian countryside.
Novgorod is a very old city and it should be good to check it out, but I'm really looking forward to Moscow!
