The alarm goes off at 06:30 and it's cold and dark, but we have to get up to catch the ferry. We go through the usual check-in procedures, but loading is interupted and nothing moves for 40 minutes. When, as usual, we are waved on last, the car deck is wet and soapy so there must have been a spillage. Our helpers arrive and we go to the restaurant for a very good cooked breakfast.
An hour into the sailing Pont Aven shudders and rattles then slows down considerably [Ali's i-phone says 8 knots]. Looking over the stern it is clear that only the starboard propeller is working so possibly there are teething troubles with the new exhaust scrubber installation. After an hour or so full power is restored and a 20kn southerly wind helpls us catch up time.
Disembarkation is slow and there are roadworks in the centre of Plymouth but after that it is a good run to Bodmin where we call in on Julie and Mike for tea.
We finally arrive home around 18:00, throw out the junk mail and have a Chinese takeaway to round off a very good trip.
