Having spent an extra day in the area and doing a few sums on Snoopy we decide that to do all of the route up through Portugal will be a rush so we decide to return to Spain wher the roads are better.
We leave the lovely little campsite and follow part of yesterday's route to Elvas, but without the detours into Estremoz, Borbas and Elvas. It's bright and sunny and there hardly any traffic.
After Elvas we pick up the free section of motorway and soon we are in Spain and bypassing Badejoz, taking the EX100 northeast towards Carceres.
It is a delightful Sunday afternoon drive through beautiful contryside and the Sierra de San Pedro mountain range.
Mid afternoon we approach Carceres from the south, exactly four weeks after coming in from the north. The coordinates for the aire create a route that stops outside the fence but over a mile by road from the entrance. This time we are aware if that and find it with no bother, except for stopping at a red light and watching a Dutch camper cross over into the entrance. Moments later we are in behind him and take the last slot. Within twenty minutes four other have come in and had to drive away.
Although we enjoyed our visit before, we decide it's not worth unloading the chair to see it again so soon, so we have a quie afternoon planning places to visit on the route north.
Later Ali gets chatting to another British couple, and in the evening they come over for a drink and chat. Eric and Pat started motorhoming last year after years of caravanning. They are good company and we talk away the evening over rugby, cars, travelling, lifestyles and other things before they leave and we turn in.
