Firstly surfing is amazing. Left Sydney on the Mojo bus at some unreasonable hour of 6.30. We drove up the coast to a place called Crescent Head, where there is a surf camp. The place is pretty remote and I had no phone signal (it has a been a while since that last happened), but is was really pretty. The afternoon was straight into the sea for my first surf lesson. The next day was also spent there surfing and this day I managed to catch some waves. Surfing is an early rising sport as the best waves are in the mornings and late afternoons. Siestas are therefore necessary through the day.
We moved on to Spot X, which is a caravan park further up the coast heading towards Brisbane. More surfing and more partying was followed here. After a knackering few days we moved onto Byron Bay. No surfing for a few days now as my hands and feet have been slightly destroyed from the board. Byron Bay is so chilled and everyone here is so relaxed (probably due to the fact they have had sun for 2 weeks now). I had to visit the doctors so get my foot checked out as it got infected. Hopefully tomorrow I will be going surfing again. I think surfing is another sport I could really get into...
