We are up at 5:30am to have breakfast and get off the ship by 7:15am.
We are lucky and Delta has an arrangement with NCL for our flight to pick up our baggage right from the dock, check us in and give us boarding passes. We literally walk off the ship, find our luggage in about 15 seconds, check in with the Delta clerk and get our boarding passes.
A 20 minute bus ride to the Barcelona Airport and we are sitting there by 8:00am for an 11:20 flight. We decide to go through security just to get it done with and before we know it we are also through Spanish customs and in a very small area of the airport. We can actually see through large glass panels the rest of the airport with numerous shops and dining options. Instead we are stuck with a coffee stand, McDonalds and small duty free shop. We aren't allowed to go back as we have technically left the Country. In addition, the air conditioning is abysmal.
The flight takes off right on time and I proceed to sleep for five (5), yes count them five (5) hours. Yea for me; boo for the chick sitting next to me. Beth informs me that I was snoring the entire time and she got to watch my sleep apnea in full force. I feel kinda bad (but, still glad that I slept for 5 hours.) I decide to watch the remake of Arthur and by the time the movie is ending we are landing.
We land by 2:00pm and are in the cab by 3:00pm and home by 3:25pm.
Overall we had a great trip. It was relaxing and a great break from the office. I also got to spend 10 straight days alone with the one person who has had to put up with me for 20 straight years; my wife. She put's up with my bulls*** on a daily basis and I know that this was a trip that she really wanted to do.
I hope that you've all enjoyed following our trip with us and........That's all she wrote!!!
