Hi Everyone,
So, I'm going to try and keep up with this Blog to have a record of our trip and keep everyone involved in what we are doing.
So far, so good. We were due to leave NY last night at 6pm. The plane pulled away from the gat a few minutes after 6pm but, we didn't really take off until after 7pm. At least Delta get's to say the flight was "on time."
The flight wasn't that bad except both of us really only got about 2 hrs of sleep each and its now 5:30pm and we feel like its 11:30am (but like we stayed up all night, which we did.) Already tried to take one short nap today and it didn't work.
Went to see the famous Gaudi cathedral called Sagracia Familia. It was truly amazing. I don't think i I can up load pictures to my IPad2 so, I'' put them up when we get home. Gaudi died sometime in the 1920's or 30's but, they are still fininshing it. Crazy big and intricate.
We are back at the room again getting ready for dinner. Trying some place near the La Rumbha area (which is a real popular area in the city.
We went to this great seafood restaurant called Buta Fumerio. Had cold escargot in the shells for the first time with a peanut sauce and mayonnaise. Beth had Pallella and I had Shrimp for dinner. Topped it off with fresh Profiterolls with warm chocolate sauce for desert.
All in all a good first day (although we are both the walking dead right now.)
Than's it for now; time to try to get some sleep to get back on a normal body schedule.
Tomorrow --- That open air tourist bus around the city with a scheduled stop at the Picaso Museum.
I'll write again tomorrow.
