Mode of transport for arriving in Delhi was a flight which took 2 hours, otherwise it would have been 3 days on the train and don't think we are hardcore backpackers yet to handle 3 days on a train. So far on this trip weve travelled by sleeper bus, sleeper train and a flight. No accomodation booked so we got out the trusty bible "lonley planet guide" threw ourselves and backpacks in a tuk tuk and went to the area we had chosen to stay in. After looking at a few places we finally found something we were happy with. Delhi is a busy city but not as hectic as Mumabi and also a lot cleaner.
We decided we would do quite a bit of sightseeing and the easiest way was to hire a guide or taxi for the day so off we went to haggle a price for a taxi for the day. Now im no great haggler but paying £5 for 2 people all day sightseeing is a good bargain. We visited the Red Fort,Bahai House of Worship which is also known as the Lotus Temple, Humayun's tomb, Safdarjang's Tomb. I also wanted to the visit the Toilet Museum but unfortunatley we didnt have time. We went to Connaught Place for a little spot of shopping and people watching. While walking round a little boy selling huge balloons started following us trying to get us to buy a balloon,30 mins later and he was still following us! We even kept on going into shops but he waited for us outside, he eventually gave up.
Feel like ive had a good mix off sunbathing, sightseeing and culture so far on my journey oh and I've already ditched my hairdryer! hasn't taken long!
