Hey everyone! So another week has passed in this Indian adventure, I can't believe I have been gone for so long! This week I was with another cardiologist named Dr. Joshi he works at the government hospital. It is CRAZY there! There are like rickety beds and stretchers, people peeing in the hallways, they wash beds with hoses outside, patients are moaning in the hallways with amputated limbs and a bunch of crazy stuff. Dr. Joshi is very nice he explains everything and I get to watch echos every day and today I saw an ultrasound of the liver as well. He shows me xrays and I can now identify: pacemakers, Tuberculosis, bronchitis, dilated ventricles and a bunch of other stuff.I have also been with Dr. Gera again this week (the OB GYN) I saw a severe hemorrhage with premature separation of the placenta (she sees one of these cases about every 4-5 years, we were lucky to see it). This poor woman was in so much pain and the poor little baby had at least 20mL of blood in her stomach that they suctioned out with a small syringe. It was quite a sight. Dr. Gera just tosses the blood clots on the floor. We usually get sprayed with blood but this time we didn't.So now I have seen 4 c-sections, a live birth, 4 echocardiograms and a million patients haha. I booked my ticket to Thailand for the day I am done here so that will be a nice break before I head on home to regular showers and laundry machines (and no jumping spiders in my bed!!!) Next Tuesday is Diwali which is Indian Christmas so you can imagine how much more crowded everything is. I have seen like 2 car accidents a day and was in a fender bender, but they don't even stop for fender benders here. Vikram (their bus system) rides that are usually 10 minutes take like an hour ugh it is so annoying! Hopefully I am headed to Agra tomorrow…the other girl Katie is sick so I am waiting to see if we can go together tomorrow (we were supposed to go today) it is cheaper and safer to go together. Anyway I am going with or without her tomorrow so we'll see. Off to Mumbai on Halloween night L sad times.I hope everyone eats a lot of candy for me! Love and miss you all- keep writing on the message board and emailing me! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
