Wahoo, welcome to Auckland! The past few days have been a mix of awesome (catching up with old friends and new babies) and crazy stressful- the movers stuffed up with my things...they were meant to arrive Wednesday morning but were two days late and only arrived this afternoon. Which helps me not the slightest because I'm not in Tauranga anymore. I've given them mum's number and she being the fabulous person that she is, will take it from here. NZ Van Lines- beware!
Anyway so I arrived in AKL late morning and caught up with the mother for lunch etc, then picked up Alison-the-other-bridesmaid from the airport. Then we hit the shops for last minute hen's stuff... Tomorrow the plan is get up at stupid o'clock and go to- ah crud, I can't say it yet cause it's still Top Secret. But I'll have my trusty camera and assuming it doesn't get eaten by lions/dropped from plane/stolen by street hobo/lost/taken by Jaws (have to give a few options in case the Bride reads this..) then I should have some piccies on facebook inthe next few days!
This next week is going to be incredibly full on-- the Hen's is tomorrow, Sunday I head to Albany where I'll be staying for 5 nights, then next Friday up to Matakana Coast for the wedding on Saturday. Sunday is relax and panic, and Monday I leave. During that time I have to: Catch up with a mate on Sunday, watch my last episode of "The Almighty Johnsons" on Monday (swapping in the ads to Castle); help make chocolates and gift bags for the wedding guests, help look after 3 awesome under 5 year old boys, help look after a definitely over 5 year old boy, repack my backpack for Europe as I've decided it's too full. At this rate I'll have two changes of clothes or something! Then if that wasn't enough... Top Deck work still to do!! Need to print out a crudload of pages still or atleast save them to my hard drive. But more importantly I have to get them all on to palm/spiel/speech cards... Some of the other trainees have around 1500 cards and to be honest I have a feelig I'll be up around that number too....argh! Once I know the stuff it'll be a breeze but it's the writing all upfront which is causing the grief!
Anyway it's now 2140 and I've promised myself that SOMETIME this week I will be in bed before 11pm or midnight and tonight's the night! I am now the proud owner of an awesome little acer notebook so assuming all goes well and nothing breaks I should be able to keep in touch as irregularly as ever.
So, have a good one and be strong Japan, you've just had that huge earthquake. All Kiwis know what you're going through at the moment as Christchurch was almost destroyed 2 weeks ago. Good luck, stay strong, and we're all there for you like you have been for us. Kia kaha!
