Well....what better way to spend the day than sitting in the car all day with the kids. We got up early to go and pick our rental car up. Problem number 1 for the day fixed with changing companies and a pending complaint.
So off we headed in the rain towards Canada. It all went well for first few hours until cabin fever set in. We could only make minimal stops as it was a long drive so thankfully the kids had a bit of a sleep.
That bit of a sleep didn't last long enough and they woke up hyperactive. So when we arrived at the border 9.5 hrs later everyone was testy. Going through the border was quick and easy though.
So first thoughts driving towards Toronto.....very foggy and icy. So it was a slow drive to the hotel as we are guessing this car doesn't see snow much.
We finally found the hotel ( after a few possible wrong turns).....the best thing about this hotel is they have a three storey slide and pool open til 11pm. Kids gone :)
After such a long day bed can't come soon enough.
Lesson learned today....probably best to fly into another country in winter next time rather than drive.
Upside is Canada uses kms instead of miles, pity our car is American, kinda defeats that purpose.
