Well I woke up without brain damage from my fall, that is a bonus.
We had a rather questionable breakfast from our French hosts and got into the car as I wanted to get over the border. So with me telling Paul to be careful on the road the whole way we finally got to the border in Montreal, via duty free of course :)
Finally after being questioned we were allowed to cross, I couldn't be happier. Though was not expecting snow and ice for our whole 6 hr drive. We stopped in Vermont for the kids to play in the snow before heading back on the road. The route we took had no food chains or restaurants so the starvation amplified in the car. It took hours to reach a redneck , cabin in the woods type of gas station to purchase chips and drinks, nutritious no but filled a hole.
What else did we see and do.......nothing. Many hours of snow and driving. Even arriving in mystic greeted us with snow but not ice like Canada, just flaky snow.
Our day finished with a trip to the market that provided me with the ingredients for the tastiest sandwich ever and a swim in the thankfully indoor pool.
We are all tired and I am sore from head to toe from the fall. We are going to enjoy a couple of quiet days before we head home. My bed is calling out for me :)
