Well today is our last full day of our holiday. I thought we would be sad but we are all looking forward to coming home to warm weather.
The day started pretty normally and I was waiting on the kids to get showered. Looked cold and windy but nothing too exciting. Within 10 minutes the town was white. A sudden snow storm covered everything, I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. It was so thick that I thought we might be stranded for the day but thankfully the plow man turned up. Five minutes later you couldn't see where the plow had been.....so was a bit hesitant to get in the car with Paul driving, thankfully I lived to tell the tale.
So what do you do when there is a snow storm.....you go to Walmart. A shopping trolley of bargains later we headed up the road to olive garden to eat something that didn't have microwave instructions. To say it was delicious is an understatement. Very filling and very nutritious.
What did we do for the rest of the day, well nothing. Ate more food and Mitch and I attempted to build a snowman. Seemed easy enough, apparently it takes a lot of practice to perfect snowman construction. We tried but it ended up looking more like a blob.
So the holiday is over. We go home tomorrow (4 flights). Has it been worth it? It has. Family time together full of adventures and experiences are priceless. We have thousands of photos and memories. Did we argue?, we did a lot but that is normal.
So what did we learn, Paul sucks at telling jokes and needs to work on that. Travelling with 2 teenage boys with no playstation can be dangerous at times. Did I become more patient, definitely not. Do we all irritate each other....YES. But do we all love each other....a big YES on that one.
Though next family holiday.....hmmmm no immediate plans to do that again in a hurry.
