Well today started off pretty normal apart from the cheesy smell from the aircon, there is no getting used to that smell.
So we went into boca raton for the day. The town of the retired population. You certainly can tell the difference in the retired lifestyle. Ladies with big hair and alot of makeup and bling and the guys wearing socks and sandles. So we saw some sights that's for sure but it is a really clean town and clearly you have to have a really good retirement fund.
The first job of the day was to go to fedex to send a parcel home, only a small parcel but they were charging $255....so offer went to the post office only to be told we needed to use a different box, smaller. So we will leave that fun til later, trying to re pack it.
Next we decided to head to the beach. We went to delray beach which looked pretty typical of an American beach. No one was in the water though....this was because of all the jelly fish so we didn't stay too long and we headed back into boca. Unsure of what to do next we all took it in turns to pick the direction at each set of lights. That game was short lived as we didn't end up anywhere exciting and just increased the driving arguments we have each day.
So we headed back to the hotel via Walmart.....couldn't help it but called in to get a BBQ chicken for tea. Not the nicest but filled a hole.
After tea we headed to the holiday parade. It was slow starting but I ended up really enjoying it. Mainly cadets and cheerleaders and local church groups but the kids were really cute. No Santa at the end though. Am thinking it was because it is a large Jewish community in boca raton. During the parade I got a call from Linda to say her flight had been delayed, initially just for a couple of hours but then it ended up being a lot longer so we are unsure of when she will arrive, hopefully tomorrow will bring more news.
