Day 60 - Legian, Bali
We both awake feeling a bit ropey following last nights events but soldier on through to get ready for another day at the beach. We step outside of the room and even though its only about 10am its scorching!
After breakfast we walk onto the beach and discover why nobody was lay on towels the other day ... the sand is too hot to walk on and I have to run as fast as I can to a shaded spot to put my flip flops back on! We grabbed some beds but it really was too hot to lie in so more wave jumping to help us cool down! The guy with the bow and arrow is still wandering around and we're wondering if he's sold one. There are also lots of dogs on the beach which i'm loving but Si looks a bit uneasy when they come near us, especially since one of the male dogs seems to be 'marking' all of the beds he's walking past.
We give in and have to get out of the roasting sun so go for some dinner at a restaurant across the road before starting round 2 on the beach. We decide to cool off in the sea (again) and notice that the tide goes out really far so where we were wave jumping this morning and practically getting dragged under there isnt even any sea anymore so we have to walk well far out to even dip our toes in it!
We head back to the room to wash the beach off of us and went to a nice looking Italian restaurant for tea, we both ordered the same pizza but when it came it didnt have any cheese on it .. whats that about?! Si has become addicted to the local beer its called Bintang, its very cheap (about £1 for a large) and the large bottle would fill about one and three quarter pints so you only need a few before you're well on your way! The restaurant is part of one of a hotels so during tea we got to see some traditional Balinese dancing which was quite impressive. The men were doing a lot of lifting the women over their heads and Si was expecting one of them to get dropped. On the way back to the hotel we stop off at one of the stalls which is full of dvd's and since they didn't have the new cats and dogs film (not impressed) we decided to give lie to me a go and bought the first season to see if its any good - will let you know what we think.
Back at the hotel and the sea air must have got to us again because we were both gone as soon as our heads hit the pillow.
