So there was a lot more I could have shared with you but my time in India has come to an end.So the rest I will get to tell you in person.I didn't get to share about my experiences with Usha, Nunu, Kailesh, and their dog Tuktuk.I spent a week in the Himalayan Mountains learning about their lives.Ushaji is one of the most positive people I have ever met and she has really changed my perception about positive intention and making the best out of a bad situation.I think of that family as my family!I WILL be coming back to India I have made too many great friends and new family not to.I also didn't get to share my experiences of taking a Reiki class. For all of you who are unsure about what Reiki is…its basically an ancient practice of healing what works by placing hands on another and connecting to God to ask for healing.Oprah did a show on it…check it out.Its not so common in the Western world..except for Cancer patients…but it seems that it is far more widely practiced and studied in the rest of the world. What I have gained the most about Reiki is learning how to listen to myself and love myself.I can't thank Julie, Kendra, and all their friends for this amazing experience.I know how blessed I am to be able to be exposed to so many different cultural and religious practices. You know me…the Geographer and Anthropologist that I am has been in complete "hog heaven"!!I just love watching how people behave…how they interact…how they love…struggle…pray….India is the most fascinating place I have been! Its totally crazy…in a good way!I just hope that all of you can have a similar experience…I feel changed…happy…positive…confident…beautiful…and more connected to who I AM…and NOT what others think or want me to be.I found myself here…and I couldn't be happier.Travel teaches us that we are all the same…despite cultural…religious….physical differences…we are all humans…our world would be a much happier place if we all just accepted our differences and loved each other for them…no judgments…pure unconditional love…just like Jesus. I think that my trip could be summed up through the beautiful words of Alanis Morissette…
"Thank U"
how bout getting off these antibiotics…(well I'm on antibiotics for traveler's diarrhea…ha!)
how bout stopping eating when I'm full up
how bout them transparent dangling carrots
how bout that ever elusive kudo
thank you india
thank you terror
thank you disillusionment
thank you frailty
thank you consequence
thank you thank you silence
how bout me not blaming you for everything(or myself!)
how bout me enjoying the moment for once
how bout how good it feels to finally forgive you(and myself)
how bout grieving it all one at a time
thank you india
thank you terror
thank you disillusionment
thank you frailty
thank you consequence
thank you thank you silence
the moment I let go of it was the moment
I got more than I could handle
the moment I jumped off of it
was the moment I touched down
how bout no longer being masochistic
how bout remembering your divinity
how bout unabashedly bawling your eyes out
how bout not equating death with stopping
thank you india
thank you providence
thank you disillusionment
thank you nothingness
thank you clarity
thank you thank you silenceI'm leaving in 8hrs for the airport…see ya soon!! "Mallory is Lovin' Life…Lovin' India…Lovin' Nepal…Lovin' YOU!"Never End Peace And Love (NEPAL)
