And Im back on the computer!
As you might know, my past days have been spent on Magnetic Island. Im starting to notice the humidity and especially the rain-seasson that they have here these days. The wierd thing is, it rains really heavilly for like five minutes before it just cleares up and the sky is nice and blue again. Whish it was the same at home.. rain seasson... rain years!
Anyways, since coming here I have been doing some different stuff. I went riding on a horse yesterday. It was a bush and beach ride so obviusly we did a bit of both. My horse, Matilda was a bit of a grumpy horse though.. She did as she pleased.. We got to know eachother a little at the end and made some sort of a deal on how things were gonna go down. After a good trek through the bush and a little one on the beach we took the saddle off an jumped into our stingersuits, before taking our horses down to the water for a swim - bareback. It was so much fun!! Our instructor called it horsesurfing 101 because the horses kept getting swooshed sideways with the waves comming in. After swimming with them for a while we got back into our normal clothes and back on the horses and rode back to the ranch.
Today I have been in the Koala sanctuary that Bungalow Bay, the resort im staying at, have on site. We got to come up close and personal with loads of different animals. I got to hold a croc, two types of kakatuu's (the normal white one that we keep as pets back home, and the more endangered one, the black kakatuu), two types of lizards -one blue tunged and one I dont remember the species of, but she was called Shelly... I also had Fred, another lizard on my head.. He was one of those that can make themselves big like the funny lizard in Jurassic park.. Other than these I also helt a python and two koalas! You are really only supposed to hold the one and get your picture taken, but the first one had had enough of being hadeled that day (even tho he had only been heldt by three people) so after we tried and he didnt want to, they put him back into his tree and gave me Matilda the koala instead. -I know, there is Matildas everywhere around here!! I think that was about it..
Now Im just hanging around the resort waiting for time to pass.. I have started my pasta and cheese-diet to cut down on my food-budget.. Great times! Tonight Im taking the overnight bus to Cairns and then on the 23 Ill start my PADI-course to learn how to dive!! SO excited!!!
Peace and love.
