I arrived to Koh Lipe on 20th after 10am and I was stoked when I saw the beach. I was supposed to see Lauri and two friends of his. I knew that they were staying somewhere in last bungalows on the beach. I walked five minutes and then I saw boys (Lauri, Jani & Martin). Then we went to our bungalows (I shared a bungalow with an Englishman, Martin). I had some Tiger Beers with me and we started to chat and drink those beers. Our bungalows were in very quiet place in uphill and we had great view from our terrace. In Lipe I felt at the first time during my trip that now I´m on holiday and now I don´t have to pack my stuff for awhile; and most important thing: now I can chill out with nice people!!! Our first day was very rough because we started so early. Martin passed out at 8pm and I, Lauri & Jani went to Barracuda Bar to have some beers. I slept about an hour in bar and we all went to sleep before midnight. Good start.
I knew before only Lauri and Jani is Lauri´s friend from Finland. Jani and Martin met two years ago in Cambodia. I spend four nights with boys and we had almost the same routine every day; woke up, ate creasy American breakfast, went to the quiet beach to chill out, ate lunch, chilled out, went to shower after sunset and prepared to go dinner and go out. There was electricity on only between 6pm-7am and usually we woke up when the fan stopped working and it came very hot. I had mattress on floor and I didn´t have blankets in first two nights. I didn´t have any mosquito net but luckily those little b******s didn´t like my blood and I didn´t have any bites. Martin has been before in Lipe and he knew some very nice locals and almost every local seems to know Martin (I don´t have any doubt about that when I saw Martin). One of them was Simone (Italy) who owned 49% of Barracuda Bar. 51% of Barracuda was owned by Lee who was also very nice fellow. We went every night to Barracuda Bar and it was always open until we left (every other bars were closed at that time) and sometimes we were only customers there.
The island was very nice but there were too many Finnish people. I met over ten Finnish and that was just too much. Boys left on Christmas Eve and headed to Bangkok and after that to Cambodia. It was über cool to meet jani and Martin and we had f***ing brilliant time together (as Martin would say). I met earlier two Finnish girls (Noora & Sofia) and we decided to go out to eat together on Christmas Eve. We had very tasty dinner and after that we went to have one drink. My first four nights in Lipe had sucked my batteries empty and I really needed to have a good sleep. I took a ferry to mainland on 25th and then I took a minivan to Khao Lak where I met Minttu.
