I managed some time for me this morning. The boys were still sleeping so I crept out and went to Bryant Park where I had breakfast (waffle and coffee not the best). I then did a bit of shopping and headed back to collect the boys. We ventured onto the subway, which now that I'm used to I just love. It wasn't so bad today a bit cooler. The first day we hit the subway it was quite hot. If you have ever been down there you will know that it is very warm but the first day was so hot it took your breathe away and I couldn't wait to get out of there. Thank goodness it wasn't like this today. We easily found the way to our train and decided to keep going over to Brooklyn and walk back across the Brooklyn bridge. Venturing into Brooklyn was like going into a much calmer version of New York. I would have loved to have had more time to wander the streets here but as always we are on a tight schedule. We walked across the bridge which took about 1/2 hour I think. It was truly an amazing experience and I'm glad we did it walking from Brooklyn as we had the views of Manhattan ahead of us. Once across we took the subway again back to Times Square with a shuttle train to Grand Central Terminal. Another beautiful NY building. There was a huge Apple store here which the boys loved and we headed to Oyster Bar & Restaurant for lunch. I wasn't that impressed for what it cost - $80 Aus and what he had was not much so I wouldn't recommend it. After this we walked back towards our hotel stopping in stores that grabbed our attention. Liam loved the NBA store - some of the pictures show just how big these basketball players are. We ventured to Central Kitchen for tea which was one of the best meals I've had in NY - its nice to know there are some great places to eat, unfortunately we are just discovering them now. Another day ends and a new one begins tomorrow. Not many days left now.
