Late start to the first full day, jet lag and lack of sleep had hit us hard and we slept until 11.30 am. The only thing that woke us was the lady trying to get into our room to make the beds. I dragged the boys out of bed and we got going. Of course we were all hungry so headed to Hard Rock Café for lunch, breakfast, um not sure what it was. After a fill of burgers and fries we headed around Times Square, brought tickets to a comedy show we probably won't see and ended up on the Hop On Hop Off bus. We headed downtown, past Empire State Building, Union Square, Soho, Little Italy, Wall Street, Battery Park and back towards Times Square via Tribeca, Chelsea and Madison Square Gardens. It truly is the best way to get your bearings for New York. I was amazed at the architecture, New York has the most beautiful buidings. It was also amazing to see buildings that had featured in many TV shows and movies, my favourite TV series Suits being one of them. After we returned from Downtown we decided to go to M&M world for a break and starbucks for some much needed sustenance - it was bloody hot. Then back on the bus to do Uptown. Past Central Park, Upper West Side (xoxo) Morningside Heights, through Harlem and returned to Times Square on the other side of Central Park. Central Park is massive and just beautiful, I can't wait to explore it more when we return. Again we saw the most beautiful buildings which house some of the most famous people like Bono, Colin Firth and Meryl Street and the all important place where Sesame Street was filmed. Back in Times Square to do some shopping, ate Pizza, drank warm wine and went to bed after midnight. Not bad for waking up late.
