Days 55-61
Day 55: Monday, February 24th 2014
Remind me to never again play in a Burger King playground. Kids were all over me, speaking Spanish so fast, and that wasn't even the bad part..I'm too big! So imagine being in a clastrophobic play place, with foreign children all over you. I think that's all I should really say about today.
Day 56: Tuesday, February 25th 2014
I want to stay here so bad! It would be so easy if I could just get my visa and I wouldn't even have to think about where I'm going next. Today was supermarket day and playtime with the boys all until dinner. We are all getting along much better and Nico is really starting to understand me more and more. I love the boys, I love my ward, I love the family, I love my home here.
Day 57: Wednesday, February 26th 2014
Wow. What a morning! The power went out, and Martin fell down the stairs. Marble stairs! Luckily he was perfectly fine, and I think we're all okay.
Day 58: Thursday, February 27th 2014
Feliz cumpleaños a mi hermano mayor en EEUU!! Today is good :) I had my Spanish class and played with Nico up until they all left for the Spanish islands. I have 5 days here by myself, so..PARTY. I am not waking up tomorrow morning, I am not. Lol. No way am I setting the alarm. I'm closing the blinds, shutting my eyes and I will be OUT.
Day 59: Friday, February 28th 2014
Well, I didn't sleep in super late like I wanted to. In fact, I woke up at the same time I always do. Lol whatever. I decided since I have the whole house to myself, I'm going to live like an American. So I had an idea to make a big American breakfast. But here's the problem: they don't use ingredients like we do. Flour? Sugar? Cinnamon? Butter? What the heck!? This is crazy. So no waffles, pancakes, crepes...that left me with French Toast without cinnamon. Okay fine. One egg and a little soy milk. Yup, that's my big American breakfast. Oh yeah, no syrup. Luckily there was some yummy peach jam in the fridge.
Next, I decided if I'm going to live today like I was living back at home, it's time to get back in bed! So I stayed there until 12 or so. Oh yeah, lunchtime in America is about 12 (not 3:30) So time to eat again! I cooked some sausages and made fry sauce. I found some french fries in the freezer and thought, perfect! But I was still full from breakfast, so those will have to wait. I did some exercise, bought groceries and ate a bowl of cereal for dinner. (Typical teenage American, right?) P.s I love their soy milk here. Since I don't eat dairy, I'll have to see if they sell the same brand in the States.
Tonight I went to the salsa dancing with Melisa and her 2 friends. AWH, I love it SO much! It makes me want to just live here! The wekends are awesome and I love having a city life! I don't need a car for anything! Sigh why can't I just live here? WHY WHY WHY. dumb visa. I love Spain. The culture, the food, the language. I'm really comfortable and it's becoming a home to me. PLEASE just let me stay here.
Day 61: Sunday, March 2nd 2014
Church day. Afternoon with the Placencia's. Nothing new. I love their family and I'm so sad to leave Spain, with one of the biggest reasons being that I have to say goodbye to them. Hopefully I'll be able to say "hasta luego!" or "hasta pronto!" Oh yeah, did I mention I'm leaving Spain? Guess where to? LONDON. Adventure #2 here I come! I'm so EXCITED, nervous, sad, happy, so many emotions, all I can do is jump up and down and run around in circles. Because what else can I do? Peace out.
