I love buenos aires and definitely see how people end up staying here or weeks or forever!
So I woke up in concepcion and went to get my bus to the farm. I waited and waited and an hour after the bus should have arrived I began to get slightly frustrated due to my appalling Spanish! Luckily another backpacker walked by who could speak a little Spanish so I asked her to find out what was happening! Turned out the buses had been cancelled due to the rain so I just jumped on a bus back to asuncion and when in asuncion jumped on the first overnight bus to buenos aires!
The bus was pretty good, lots of films in English and they even give you dinner and breakfast so the 18 hour journey was not too bad!
Arrives into buenos aires and as I had done no research I had to trust the lonely planet which turned out to be a good choice! Booked into a hostel in San telmo region and as it was a Sunday there was a market! It was quite late in the afternoon by the time I got down to it but some of the jewellery was amazing and I could very easily spend a fortune! San telmo is amazing, every block you turn there is something new going on! I watched bands and people doing the tango until about 8pm was fantastic!
I went back to the hostel and started chatting to a couple of girls in the kitchen and two of us decided to go out for dinner later! 10.30pm dinner which lasted until midnight it is amazing how late they eat here! The girl I was with bought the most amazing steak it literally melted and I no longer think steak will ever be the same again!
When I hit back to the hostel I went to the bar and started chatting to two Swiss guys and the lady behind the bar! At 2.30 we ended up going to a club and there was an amazing drum orchestra band playing there! We were pretty light weight and ended up leaving around 4 which I think is meant to be very early by Argentinian standards!
The next morning I woke up to go on the walking tour. It was pretty good and they told you all about the history of the country and loads about peron and Eva an also the dirty war! Saw lots of amazing buildings and in the main square where mothers still match every Thursday for their children that "disappeared" during the dirty war! Is really sad and today was the 35th anniversary so there was some kind if parade and music going on! Absolutely exhausted now due to the lack of sleep last night and a whole day of walking today! I definitely cannot party and visit the sights of the city so tonight I think I will just have to sleep!
