Got to the airport no problem, picked up the GPS at Daves' on the way so now we will be able to get around. Our first flight is on time and we are just getting our drinks. This plane is pretty little and has no tv's. Mark is snoozing and Ty is trying to sleep. Nolan and Carson are in the first seats and the rest of us are in the last seats.
The rest of the flights went well. No delays , even a little early to Hawaii. By the time we got off the plane and got our rental car everyone was so tired having been up for 24 straight hours! Set our hotel into the GPS and off we went to find our hotel, only glitch was it took us the scenic route... Defiantly no need as the boys were asleep in the car before we left the parking lot and its pitch dark.
It's 4:41 am here so almost 9am at home, I'm wide awake, ready to go!
It's very hot and humid, 32 degrees and the air is moist having rained here for almost 2 weeks straight. A tropical feeling not like showers in Sk. They are calling for rain today again so I think our plan is to get some groceries and tour around the grounds of the hotel and relax today!! Whew!! I think next time a direct flight from Saskatoon to Maui is the way to go!
Today was the day of my dreams...
We started the morning with a dash to the beach to see the amazing sight right from our lanai. We had no food and everyone was very hungry so we walked to the Turtle Bay Hotel for brunch. Then we spent the day on the beautiful beach soaking up the sun. BBQ pineapple, crab and hotdogs(kids) was the menu tonight with the best margarita's one could imagine.
After supper and a swim a couple of us went for a drive to see if we could get Dylan some goggles. His poor eyes were burning. We found a Long's Drugs that had goggles and all sorts of treasures from Hawaii.
The three younger boys had already fell asleep by the time we left at 6:45. It's hard work playing on the beach all day!
Today everyone was up by 6am, uncle Gerald made waffles and turkey bacon for breakfast. Then it was off to the pool for a couple hours of swimming.
The afternoon was fun with a short trip in to the big surf town down the road, we had out first taste of shaved ice and wow! We all had a different flavour so it was yummy to try so many different kinds. We walked the town and window shopped and took pictures of all the crazy chickens and their babies. We are back home now and they boys have already convinced grandpa to take them to the pool. Tonight is chicken on the BBQ with piña colada's to quench our thirst. Tough life, I know... Lol
