Hi everyone. next update, here it goes:
Where we left off from the previous blog was me euge and leigh waiting for our bus to go to Koh Semui, an island in the gulf of Thailand next to Koh Phangan where the full moon party is. We had to check out of the hostel at 12 so were stuck til 6pm hich meant only one place to go whichis naturally the bar! After a few brewski's and a game of pool where obviously i won all games we decided to leave and spare our money although a bottle larger than a pint only cost roughly 90p.
We then headed towards the centre of Kao San Road, a main spot for travellers and as we had heavy bags and were constantly endangering the lives of the locals with our rucksacks we decided to sit down and wait it out in an alleyway which probably wasnt the vest idea but we did it regardless. We spent 4 hours waiting o go to our meeting spot. The tuk tuk ride there was a bit dodgy. 2 bags were strapped to the back of it with my bag bein physically tied using its own material to a flimsy bit of aluminium but it did make us laugh at least.
Bus journey was 9 hours roughly and went surprisingly qick considering. We then had to wait another 3-4 hours on the ferry but we did at least get to see the other islands which we would be spending time in and they were spectacular! Koh Tao especially looked beautiful and is renowned for its diving.
We are curently spending our final night at a massage parlour as accommodation. No we havent gone in for a thai massage with a happy ending although leigh got a free 10 minute head massage as he was waiting for his head to be shaved! the accommodation was cheap as anything, 500 bhat for 3 nights per person which ends up as 8 quid or so and the women there are all very nice.
Last night we went to the black moon party just up the road, after purchasing a 1 pound bottle of whisky we scrambled down the road and eventually found it. It was buzzing with lots of young people, majorily thai and the odd lady boy which was determined to make a quick buck. After some more chang beer and a good long dance we set off at rougly 5.30. Leigh being the drunken mess he was acted on the factthat a lady boy had tried to grab me and kept inviting him/her over to us as we were walking thinking it would be hilarious for me to be the target. We were followed for roughly a few hundred metres before he/she caught up on a scooter and carried on the persuasion tactics. fortunately i still had some sense left from what the booze had taken and politely and sternly said no and turned the tables and offered leigh as a replacement. This party was a brilliant indicator of what was to come at the full moon party with a possible 30,000 people being there it will be pure drunken dancing heaven!
We rose today at 4.30 in the afternoon thai time and so missed the day but taking it easy tonight so no chang but there is a beach party happening as its chinese new year so maybe well help them celebrate.
Were going to trael round theisland, its the larger of the 3 so we thought wed make the most of it! check out the pictures, hopefully they will do it justice as it is truly stunning by the coast and please do not check out the video if ure slightly squeemish! only for the strong hearted believe me!
I'll pause the udpate for now as it will cost me monster bucks but hope evveryone is well and i will update with more pics and tales. Euge has updated photos somewhere so next time i write ill tell everyone where it is so they can access his as well!
Take care and much love!
