We arrived in Oslo as the light was fading, heading up north the number of daylight hours was dropping and was only going to get worse as we moved on with the trrip up north.
The first night we were pretty shattered from the train trip, i know i know, we sit on our ass for 7 hours why are we tired.. i dont know!! i wish we wernt! Anyway, we went for a long walk round the town and covered a fair bit. After looking for somewhere to eat we soon realised how expensive Oslo was, we had been warned from our friends in Copenhagen but seriously this was madness. We ended up at TGI Fridays...exactly, this was the cheapest place we could find! After a good feed we went for another walk around the otherside of town, we had pretty much covered everywhere now so we had our bearings.
The next day we headed to Holmenkollen ski jump where the world ski championships have been held a number of times. We were able to get the lift to the top which gave us an amazing view of the Oslo Fijord, check the pics. We spent a while walking around the ski museum and then went back up top to watch the sun set over the Fijord. On the way out we met Ole Christian Wendel who is the Norwegian cross country ski and ski jump champion, he was being filmed, i dont what about thoguh as i didnt understand a word.
That evening Luke contacted one of his friends that he met in Australia who was currently living in Oslo. They took us out to a nice Thai food place with much better prices and then we went out for a few quiet drinks in the city.
We had to be up really early for the train to Bergen the next day so tried to get a good sleep. We were lookign forward to the next train journey as its said to be some of the best views on a train jouney in the world
