Tuesday 9th May: had to unpackage some quilts today for a quilt display at the next NZSO concert. Then Lady Joan Giles called; a rather exentric old lady friend of my grandparents in London. She told me she was taking me out for lunch! Had a very chatty lunch with Lady Joan- she is very well travelled and continues to travel on her own round the world- go her!Had a nice meal when i got back home but was glad i was leaving for a hostel tomorrow! Wednesday 10th May- went to Base Hostel to drop my things off, then walked to work in 10 mins!had my first trial shift at the cafe in the eve.I then met up with a guy and we went for a drink... just before we left i met Griet- one of Trey's friends; to cut a long story short- she suddenly make me think 'why am i not staying for longer'...... Thursday 11th May: Got invited to have a meal with Lady Joan again; was at her very nice apartment with another crazy traveller friend of hers!She even tried to call my grandmother back in London but unfortunately no reply. We had to both sign the visitors book before we left her place!!Then met Vic from kiwi Experience and ended up going for a 'few drinks' ended up singing Karioki in a gay bar!!! Friday 12th May: Had Made in New Zealand concert in the eve which was cool. saturday 13th May: Had 1st day at Lido Cafe; customers were much politer than in UK!in the eve met with Becka and Si from napier- we ended up going for gorgeous meal and had lots of wine; the manager gave us shots of Tequilla too! I then headed to a Trey's friend's house gathering. Sunday 14th May- did some shopping after work and accidenetly stole some bags from a gifshop: I had put them on my arm as I wanted to look at the umbrellas that were on the stand behind that bags- I was so embarrassed- I took them back of course!Headed off to jazz in the evening- Tony, the manager, gave us shots again! Monday 15th May- put up a quilt exhibition today in the town hall. Was one of my mate's birthdays so we sat and played some hilarious drinking games in the hostel kitchen.
