Friday 30th December - Arrived in Sydney after a 10 hour journey on the coach. Managed to get to the hotel by train and ferry were able to take in the views of the City. Went to the Botanical Gardens and walked into China town for Chinese. Saturday 31st December - Went to the Botanical Gardens but ended up being in the wrong place for 3 hours!! Arrived at the correct place by 11.30 queued for a beer wrist band and found a spot for the day. Had a great view of the fireworks and spent the day with Kathy and her friends. Had a really lovely time and will be hard to beat in future years. The theme of the fireworks was a heart. During the day planes flew over with heart shape smoke and at night all of the boats were covered in heart lights - it was beautiful. Sunday 1st January - 45C weather I wanted to do nothing but sit in a bath tub of ice! However, we went to the aquarium, which was excellent, then walked very slowly through Darling Harbour and then out for a meal. Monday 2nd January - A lot cooler today 25C up early to check into a hostel it turnned out that Kathy was in the same hostel - wierd! Got to grips with where we were staying. Tuesday 3rd January - Went on an open top bus to check out the differet suburbs in the City and then made our way to Bondi. Wasnt overly impressed with the beach, thought it would be a lot bigger and more modern. Most of the buildings are a bit 30's it does have a bit of a 'retro' feel to it. Otherwise it was a chance for the beautiful people to show off their bodies - yawn!! Wednesday 4th January - Went to Circular Quay and then over to the Opera House. Then walked over to Darling Harbour for a walk around and then onto 'Haymarket' to an inside market.
