Another scorcher in Paris today!
We packed a lot of walking and food in today, so much so that Minty has been napping for the past 3 hours.
We began with a trip to the Arc de Triomphe, we took lots of pictures then went down the Champs Élysées and shopped in Cartier, Chanel and Louis Vuitton (thanks to all the readers donations)... (I'm sure if I had spelt the names correctly without google then it'd have been a bit more convincing.. )
We sat on the Grand Palais steps looking at the Petit Palais for about an hour while calling our respective mothers in the sunshine. We were so relaxed that it took us a lot of time to get the effort to go to the tube to visit the Sacre Cour. It was a beautiful building with some amazing views, we even managed to pick out Notre Dame in the distance.. We then walked down to a recommended restaurant 'Marmite', where we had the most amazing filling meal. I had possibly the biggest most unhealthy salad imaginable, it came covered in potatoes in garlic sauce (there were honestly no options without- not that I'd choose one anyway) in a serving bowl, I hardly made a dent in it! Minty had confit of duck, with the same potatoes and he managed to eat some of mine too. I vote that as the nicest place we have eaten so far, it was a lovely restaurant and fantastic food. Feeling guilty we walked the whole way home as the salad definitely was not a healthy option.... And this all led to Mintys looong nap. We will probably go and get a crepe downstairs and sit in the bar before bed again! :)

G&D I would not exactly say you were roughing it. I expect you have running water, which is more then I did on my 1st visit. The high light of the day was "Biff Steak", actually horse, but I didn't know at the time. Was it shopping or window shopping? The latter I hope. Montmartre is usually full of painters (non French) painting the Sacre Cour. Expect you will have bought one. It will do for the garden shed.... Seriously, so glad the weather is kind and you are making the most of yr visit. Confit of Duck no less ! Final furlong in sight! Very Best Wishes and LOL, Grandad and Grandma Holt
