Got up and had to say bye bye to the boys, who were moving on to Brisbane! Had such a great few days with them so was a shame to say bye but thats travelling! They left at about 10 and me and Lauren had the day to enjoy Surfers Paradise! Felt we hadn't really seen it as we'd been at the theme parks so we walked down to the beach, looked round some shops and got some lunch. There's loads of club crawls in Surfers and we had decided we had to see the nightlife as it's what Surfer's is most famous for, so when one of the crawls approached us we decided we'd go for it! Knew it was the done thing to try and get tickets as cheap as possible so we acted as if we already had plans and had no money etc, kept pretending to walk away. The RRP was supposedly $60, he offered it to us for $30 in the end but we got him down to $20 with a $10 drinks voucher thrown in! So basically $10!! That included food, free entry to 5 clubs (the clubs yesterday were charging $15 just for entry anyway) and a free drink in each club. So we were pretty happy with that! I'd een debating going down to Seaworld again, as I had the pass, but the crawl started at 5.30(!!) so I wouldn't have had time. I had some things to do on the computer so went on for an hour while Lauren went and chiled on the beach. Just as I got off the computer she got back so we grabbed some magazine and chilled by the pool which was lovely, it was another gorgeous day and the pool was lovely! Swam for a bit then ended up having a nap on the sunbed! When I woke up it was time to get ready to go so got showered and changed and headed down to the Beer Garden which was our first stop. Got our wristband, vouchers etc and sat chatting. Seemed soo early to be out, but got pretty busy with other people on the tour so didn't seem too weird. Got our free drink when we got there, had some free hot dogs then used our drink vouchers for more drinks. Moved onto to a bar called Billy's Beach House which didn't really have any atmosphere.... the music was so loud but it was really empty, me and Lauren thought it felt like a school disco! There were some really weird guys around, dancing on there own, one in particular who must have been on something. Quite entertaining though! They did a little drinking game, we got our free drinks an free chips and wedges then moved on to a much better bar called 21. By now more people had turned up for the crawl, think there were about 80 of us. 21 was really funky, loads of little booths to sit in and a dancefloor. Still falt too early for us to dance so we sat with Maria and Louise who we met in Spot X as they were on the crawl too! Met some nice guys too and then saw Ross, a guy I met in New Zealand with a group of guys he was travelling with who were all staying at our hostel. Lauren had met them in the kitchen so we spoke to them too. Got out free drinks and some yummy free pizza, definately getting our moneys worth. Then we went to the first proper club, Vanity, which was amazing. Really modern, good size and the most amazing toilets ever.... they were soo posh and even had free internet! So random. Lauren had to phone her mum so I chatted to Ross for a while, there was another drinking game and obviously the free drink, then we moved on to our last club, Sin City, which was awesome. By now we were in the mood for dancing so had a great time in there, were soo glad we'd done the club crawl, definately a good decision. All the clubs were really good and better than we'd expected - after hearing about Surfers being trashy and everything. After our free drinks and an hour or so in Sin City, a load of us went back to Beer Garden as it was the cheapest place to get drinks but me and Lauren decided we'd rather be at a club so we headed back to Vanity which for some reason was shut! Not sure what that was about, not sure what the time was but we thought it would have still been open. We didn't mind too much as we'd had a good night so we strolled around Surfers for a bit, bumped into Maria and Louise so chatted to them for a while then headed back to the hotel. Felt so safe walking around, we didn't expect to feel so relaxed but yeah, really nice place to be, had had a great night.
