SO today was Wet and Wild Day! Woke up at 7 again, not sure why, but chose to have to extra sleep this morning! Got up, dressed and had some breakfast then we all walked down to the bus stop. It was another gorgeous day on the Gold Coast! Got to Wet and Wild which was right next to Movie World and it looked awesome, lots of slides and stuff! Having been the only person not scared at all yesterday, i was the only person scared today! I have always found water parks pretty scary, that moment where you think you're going to fall out of the ring or go over the edge of the slide... so, it was time for Jamie especially to get his own back for me laughing at him yesterday! I was quite relieved to find out the new ride was closed as it included a first of its kind loop the loop! Not sure I could have done it! Anyway, we got a locker then headed straight to the first slide, Super 8 Aqua Racer. Was really good fun, all lay on mats and race down the slide. Zach was first, I was last! Went super fast though! We then went to the River Rapids, 4 slides, like big versions of the one at the Taro. We all went on different ones, 2 were enclosed tunnles and 2 were open. I went in the tunnle one, was pretty dark and narrow! Went really fast though, was good fun but killed my back when I went over the ridges! Met the others at the bottom and we went to the Lazy River at Calypso Bay which was loooovely! All sat in rubber rings and floated along in the sun listening to the music they played. Everything is really well themed and it was set in the Caribbean and you go through a little shanty town and a pirate ship wreck and he likes. Went round a couple of times then went throught the kids play area, Bucaneer Bay, which I wish I had been young enough to go into! A big pirate ship with swings and slides etc :-p But, we kepy going, way from the safety of the kids area to the "Extreme H20 Zone" which I was dreading! We queued straight up for a slide called Tornado, where you start on a platform in a 4 person masive doughnut, then go down this ridicolously steep 40 meter tunnle and into a massive funnle. It was soo scary!! Felt like I was going to fly out of it, especially at the top where there was a big bump where the doughnut left the slide! You then slide through the bottom of the funnle and into a little pool. Was great fun but don't think I could do it again! The others got there laugh at least - especially when we realized there was a photo! We then went over to the Black Hole, two pitch black tunnel slides which you go down in double doughnuts. I went with Zach and Lauren went with Jamie, I loved it, it was definately scary, but good scary! We then went over to Kamaikaze, another of the new rides at the park, which scared me even more than Tornado. You're in a double doughnut facing the other person you're with, on a platform, then you slide down a near vertical 11m drop then go right up the other side, kind of like a halfpipe. Cannot explain how sary it is, I was so scared in the queue! I went with Lauren and was facing forward and could not see anything behind her then when we went over the edge it was so scary, felt completely vertical, don't know how we didn't tumble out! You get a feeling of 0 gravity at the top too which was weird! We then got some lunch, shared a wrap with Jamie which was really nice, then went to the Wave Pool! Spent a bit of time in there, watching people on the Flo Rider, a surf simulator and Sky Coaster, like a mini Nevis Arc but you get raised up then have to release yourself! Looked very cool but had to pay extra for it. We then headed over to the Mach 5, the 5 longest and astest slides a the park which complete the Extreme H20 Zone. Two of them, the Sidewinders, are massive open air flumes which you go down in 2/3 person doughnuts. I went down with Jamie and I was SO scared! You go super fast and there were some pretty sharp corners that had me screaming, convinced we were going to fall out or go over the edge! Managed to stay in the doughnut though and make it to the bottom! We then braves the Jetstreams, 3 massive vertical drop slides. Two were the same then the one in the middle had a little bump at the strt, which I went on. It was supposedly not as scay but the boys tried both and said it was scarier! It was good fun, going over the edge was pretty scary and it was super fast! Felt brave doing it though :-p We then went over to Mammoth Falls, the last big attraction, where you get in huge person doughnuts do go down a massive open air flume. Again, I was the wimp and found it really scary! Once we had done that we went back to the Lazy River for a bit then Lauren went to sunbathe while me, Zach and Jamie did the Aqua Racer again, then back to the River Rapids where I tried one of the open slides and loved it!! Sure beats the Taro, was super quick with loads of big drops I wasn't expecting! And it didn't hurt my back! We then did the Black Hole again, me and Zach went together on the one we hadn't done before which I thought was a bit better then Zach and Jamie went together to see how fast they could go. We then went as a 3 on the Sidewinder which I didn't actually think was as scary as when it was just me and Jamie, which was good! When we got back to the Wave Pool Lauren was asleep, Jamie went and sunbathed and me and Zac went in the pool. The waves were pretty good! Stayed in there a while then dried off on the sunbeds befor egetting changed and making our way to the bus stop. Fell asleep on the bus back to town so that journey flew by! Had had a really good day, definately the best park we'd gone to. Got back to the room, got showered and washed my hair then dried it when the boys went out to get pizza. They couldn't find a Dominos though so I had my last croissant for my dinner, but went to the kitchen/tv area to sit with them. Then chilled out on the bean bags and watched a bit of The Simpsons. This was the guys last night and our last night as the four of us together! We'd become like a little family, especially as we'd all been living together the last few days! Always sad to loose a good group when you're travelling. We chilled out in the room drinking and ended up listening to the whole of the first Arctic Monkey's album and chatting about music for ages. Hadn't heard the album in ages so put me in a good mood! We then went out, were going to go to Sin City, one of the main clubs but you had to pay for entry which we didn't fancy doing so just headed back to Beer Garden, which was packed compared to the night before! Loads of deals on drinks as it was backpackers night so got drinks, saw a few people we knew from along the way and played a bit of pool. It was doubles, I was in the winning team once and the losing team once which I guess isn't too bad :-p Don't think we left that late but got back an sat in our little garden for a bit before going to bed :-)
