Hello again! Well ive been up to so much since the last blog i wrote so apologies if i miss anything out! After i wrote the last blog Liz and Em did their bungee jump which i can honestly say was probably one of the scariest moments of my life even though i didnt actually do it! Seeing the pure fear on their faces was unbelieveable i literally wanted to run over and be like " Nooooooooooo!" hahahaha. Was amazing to watch but i dont think im convinced yet! That night we went for a meal with our tour group that we would eventually be split up from the next day as half of us were going to to Cape Town (like us) and the other half were going all the way up to Kenya. After a pretty emotional goodbye (even though we'd only been with these people for liek6 days!) we headed to Victoria Falls which was absolutely amazing! We got completely soaked but it was well worth it! The next day we went to the Okavango Delta on Mokoros which are basically really small boats that these people pull you along on with big sticks. Quite an experience to say the least if not a bit wobbly! That evening we stayed on this secluded island with no toilets and no showers and went on 2 bushman walks which was quite interesting. The men that had taken us on the boats did a traditional dance for us at the end of the night and we were trying so hard to keep our faces straight so not to offend them but it was so funny! The following day we drove to this bushman camp and did a walk with real bushman who showed us how they live, which was really interesting. They literally haad plants for everything. One for aches and pains, one for period pain and even one they used as a contraceptive! Dont know if you could actually trust that though...
In the morning we crossed the border into Namibia and went straight to Windhoek which is the capital. We stayed in a hostel that night which was such a relief having been camping every single night since we got here! Loving life! The following day we went to Etosha National Park where we would stay for 2 nights and did quite a few game drives there but still havent managed to see any leopards or rhinos! Im determind to see the big five before i get to Oz! Gotta be done! One of my favourite nights so far as got to be when we went to Spitzkoppe which is basically this big desert looking like place with massive mountains and amazing scenery and because it was so dry there our tour leaders suggested that we sleep under the stars as we were less likely to get bitten there. Sleeping on the ground with just a mat and my sleeping bag was pretty lush and quite an unforgettable experience. At the moment we're in Swakopmund in Namibia which is a really German influenced city and is meant to be quite famous for its German style pubs etc. We went out last night with some of our tour group which was pretty cool but not as amazing as my lonely planet guide made out to be! Oh well...nothing will beat old Scums!! hahahaha. (ahem...) We're staying in ahostel for the nest couple of nights which is a nice change and Liz and I have booked to go quadbiking on these awesome sand dunes this afternoon which should be pretty phat! Before we got here we went to Cape Cross Seal Colony which literally had hundreds and hundreds of seals just on this beach. The stench was shocking!i mean i thought the Estuary smelt bad...
Im looking forward to going to Cape Town and we only have a few days left of our tour in South Africa so time has gone pretty fast! Doesnt seem like we should be moving on to Oz so soon! Im going to attempt to upload some pics now so fingers crossed it works! Take Care Everyone! Thanks for all your messages! xxxxxxxxxxxx
