Well here i am sat in Australia writing this blog and the rest of you are probably all tucked up in bed! (we're ten hours ahead of england here - my mum loves the late night phone calls!!)
Mine and Liz's quadbiking sesh was pretty cool and we kained it up some really massive sand dunes which was well fun! After Swakopmund we moved down to Sesrium and then down to Fish River Canyon which is the second biggest canyon in the world after the gran canyon so it was pretty awesome opportunity to get to see something like that. That night i had my first encounter with a fake c-word because some stupid lady on our tour shouted out "Look a flying cochroache!" I literally ran a mile and did the usual: crying, shaking, heart pounding only to find that it was some kind of beetle! I was really not happy with that woman! The last few places we stopped at towards the end of the tour were Orange River where out campsite was right on the edge of a river so was a great opportunity to have a swim and chill out for a bit. Our last campsite was called the highlanders where we got involved in a cheeky bit of wine tasting! Definitely one of the highlights of the trip!
Our tour ended in Cape Town where we did a township and went round all the shanty towns and got an insight into how some of the poorest people in Africa live. This was quite shocking experience to literally see how some of the people share rooms as big as most peoples bathrooms with about 9-10 people. It really is quite an unforgettable experience and does make you think of things from a different perspective. We spent a couple of days in Cairns and Emmy and I did a shark cage dive which was absolutely amazing! Except i was told not to go in the cage because i was quite violently sea sick - literally chucking up on the side of the boat about 3 times! Well nice! The sharks were definitely worth staying for though!
We had a pretty intense day leaving Africa as we had 3 connecting flights all in one go. One from Cape Town to Jo'burg, Jo'burg to Sydney and then Sydney to Cairns so were literally shattered when we got here! We've spent a few days in Cairns just booking trips and sorting ourselves out and have booked to go to the Whitsunday Islands, Fraser Island, a canoe safari in Noosa and we've even got a free scuba dive chucked in which is exciting! Plus Victoria is coming out soon so that'll be exciting! Will speak to you soon! Love you all xxxxxxxx
