Hey Guys! Well this is my first blog post since my trip but will have to be a quick one im afraid! WE arrived in Jo'burg last Wednesday and were so sketched out, whether it was the 10.5 hour flight or just the fact that we were about to walk out into one of the most dangerour cities in the world, i dont know but it was pretty weird! After quite an emotional send off on Tuesday i found the first couple of days of my trip quite hard and felt quite uncomfortable being in Jo'burg. We stayed in quite a posh area of the city but it was still quite uneasy being there. We started our tour the next day and kicked off with a stonking 9.5 hr drive to Kruger National Park. We stayed in a really funky camp, which was cool and just gradually got to know the people on our tour. That night we went on a game drive and saw elephants ( one came right next to me!), giraffes, zebras and a dead warthog - well nice! I was also convinced at one point that i could see a leopard but it was actually just a "leopard-looking" bush! so embarassing! I swear these malaria tablets are sending me doolally! The next day we went to kruger itself and saw even more animals! Saw monkeys, tortoises, hippos, crocs and best of all LIONS!!! The Lions were by far the best. i was determined to get a pic of a leopard for my mum but no such luck! I still havent seen one to this day! The say after that we didnt another long drive and have been staying at various different campsites which are all pretty basic but nice! I think after going to reading festival any camp site is nice! The best one was elephant sands where the camp was not actually fenced off and were told last week lions were walking around the tents at night and were advised to be careful if we had to get up in the middle of the night! we were also taught what to do if u see a lion and were to told to make yourself big and make a loud noise. In the words of our driver Wessel, "if you run, you're f**ked!" Trust me to get an upset stomach that night and have to get up to go to the toilet! i have never been so scared in my entire life! From Botswana (which is where that campe site was) we travelled to Zambia which is were i am now. The camp here is lovely and we are right next to a river that has crocs and hippos! We also went on a booze cruise last night that cost £20 with food and drink included. Lets just say i got my moneys worth and am feeling the effects today... :-) Liz and Emmy are doing a bungee jump this afternoon but im saving my money for the shark cage dive in Cape Town later in the month - i dont know whos more nuts to be honest?! Well i must be off now cause the sun is beaming up lovely outside and im desperate to get in the pool! I hope everyone is keeping well and am missing everyone lots! Cant wait to hear from you all. Take Care xxxxx
