Thursday 29th
Today we decided to make the trip to Boulders Beach to see the African Penguins as we had missed the opportunity when we were last in Cape Town. It did take a while to get there due to all the holiday traffic but along the way we stopped at Simons Town for a milkshake and toasted sandwich! It was very bizarre seeing penguins on a hot beach in Africa as normally you'd associate penguins with the snow! They were very cute and sunning themselves on the rocks. After taking some photos and watching them waddle around we headed back to the car to drive up to Cape Point (this is where the Atlantic Ocean & Indian Ocean meet). Again the drive took us on a panoramic view of the coast but again we hit the holiday traffic and by time we got to the entrance to drive up to Cape Point traffic was queuing for at least another hour or so. Therefore we carried on with our drive with the intention of coming back early another morning. We stopped off at a few places on the way back to look at curio shops. The weather was once again gorgeous so we also stopped off at a beach called 'Scarborough'! Last time I was in Scarborough was August with Kelly & Rach but I've got to admit, this beach was nicer! The waters are crystal clear and the sand is a blinding white! We paddled around in the sea then took a long drive back to our apartment. We also drove again around Chapmans Peak - it is honestly quite breath taking and my new favourite place in the world. Unfortunately the curio guy who I had wanted to buy from wasn't there so I just took loads of pictures instead as it'll be a while before I'm back here again! Helen & Geoff went out for the night to some old friends so Chris and I took our car and headed for Nando's! It's more of a take-away place here unlike UK restaurants where you'd go and sit-in. So we grabbed our Nando's take away and headed back to the apartment to tuck in whilst watching more of the Big Bang Theory on DVD!
